Skunk Removal

Under the deck, under the shed, and the smell that gives it away.

Overview

Skunks dig in under decks, sheds, porches, and stoops looking for a dry place to den. The first sign is usually the smell drifting up through the floor. We remove the skunk without incident, then install a buried barrier so nothing else moves in.

Signs to look for

How you know it is time to call.

Any one of these is enough. Two or more means there is an animal already inside.

Skunk odor around the deck, porch, or foundation
A fresh hole dug next to a slab, stoop, or shed
Small cone-shaped holes in the lawn from grub hunting
Nighttime sightings in the yard
Pets that come inside smelling of skunk

Confirm the den
We identify the active burrow and check for young before any work begins.

Careful removal
Skunks are trapped in covered enclosures so they stay calm, and relocated according to state regulations.

Install an exclusion barrier
Heavy-gauge screen is trenched in around the structure and turned outward underground so nothing can dig back in.
04
Deodorize
The den area is treated to remove lingering scent that attracts other skunks.
